St James Stedham

There has been a church on this site for over 1000 years.

Traces of the original Saxon church can be seen. The fine Victorian building was built adjacent to the site of the original Saxon church in 1850 and is Grade 2 listed.

One of the oldest yew trees in the country (2500 years old) is situated in the churchyard.

We have a friendly all-age congregation and should be delighted if you joined us for worship. Our church is usually open for private prayer during daylight hours.

We welcome additional singers in our choir, and please do not be put off if you cannot read music. Our repertoire is modest!

We have an enthusiastic team of bellringers, and full training given in ringing.
